BRIEF SUMMARY OF ALL CLUES

Two main things can be concluded by a simple overview of the prophecies, the first of which is that there are 2 evil things (beasts), one from the ocean and one from the earth, which are connected somehow. And the second main clue is that Islam seem to be focused and more concerned about the second one and describes it as mammal type beast. Perhaps this is also a clue that the first beast may have come about before the advent of Islam?

For now I am going to divide and summarize the clues in two categories so we don't mix things up.

REVELATIONS 13:

The Beast, his Mark and/or his name are some of the most talked about mysteries about the Anti-Christ and the Age of the Antichrist and his time in power before the "resurrection" or the return of the true Messiah of God. In this section, we will list those prophecies and traditions of those who warned us against this Beast and described him to us so that we may recognize and avoid falling for his deception. And I will then try to see if we can solve or unlock some of the mysteries behind this "Beast" so dreaded and feared by the people of old!

The word "beast" in Arabic is pronounced "Wahsh". Wahsh is an old school colloquial way of saying something is bad or evil.  It is one of the earliest forms of used to convey the meaning "turn away from (it)".  You can observe this word as commonly being used with kids who perhaps are attempting to eat something off the floor or do something they are not supposed to do to communicate to them that they shouldn't do that. In Egypt in particular the word is still very frequently in use when describing something bad, ugly, evil, mean etc.

I gave a you little etymology about the word to point out that when the prophecy speaks of a beast as it is stated in English, It doesn't necessarily mean an actual animal. It is true that the word "wahsh" is used to describes a beast in Arabic, but this word was used for the anything that you are supposed to stay away from. As you would imagine wild beast in the pasts were something to be feared in the past in ancient communities. If we consider that the gospel originated from a Semitic language then it is very likely that the original intent was to refer to something that is bad and evil for humanity rather than an actual animal beast.

However, perhaps what helped solidify this idea was the beast mentioned in the Islamic traditions or the "Dabba" in Arabic. the word Dabba is more specific for describing a mammal type animal as the word originates from the verb that denotes "stepping, take footsteps". So the Islamic traditions offer plenty of reasons to consider or expect an animal type thing (beast) that is being described.

Before we proceed in trying to solve this mystery let us first collect all the puzzle peaces before we started putting things together. The following two sections will list the Christian and Islamic Holy Texts and Traditions and summarize the findings in a list to serve as our clues.

The Beast from The Water

And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the names of blasphemy.

This calls for patient endurance and faithfulness on the part of God’s people.

The Beast from The Earth

And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. It exercised all the authority of the first beast on its behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed.

 Because of the signs it was given power to perform on behalf of the first beast, it deceived the inhabitants of the earth. It ordered them to set up an image in honor of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. The second beast was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed.

In Islamic Beliefs, the Dabba (Beast) is one of the Major Signs of the Great"Sa'a" (Judgement Day) that will be revealed during the Day of "Qayamat".

The "sa'a" - The arabic word for "Hour/Clock/Watch". In the Qur'an, it is interpreted as the time of the end of the world.

Day of Qayamat - Translated as "the day of the Rising", is also a frequent phrase in the Qur'an which is also interpreted as the day of judgement or resurrections or the afterlife, depending on who's interpretations you follow.

(I know the distinction between these two things isn't very clear but Muslims understand almost everything in the Quran that concerns the future as pertaining to the last day. Obviously they are way off, but I am sticking with their interpretations for now so that there is no objections on this matter at hand)

God mentions in this verse the revealing of the beast, and this takes place when the people become corrupt and abandon God's commands and exchange the religion of truth. At that point, what's been decreed will befall them as in the promise is rendered due because of their extended period of disobedience, transgressions, and oppression, and for turning a blind eye to God's signs and their refusal to contemplate the revelations and the wisdom behind them and they occupied themselves with the distractions of sins to the point no moral advice will be heard and no reminder of God will steer anyone away from their desires; thus should they ever become so, God will bring forth a beast from earth that can do logic and is able to communicate with them.  And usually beasts can't think logically or communicate, but this way the people will come to know that this is from God Al-mighty.

Ibn Jurayj reported that Ibn al-Zubayr described the beast and said, "Its head is like the head of a bull, its eyes are like the eyes of a pig, its ears are like the ears of an elephant, its horns are like the horns of a stag, its neck is like the neck of an ostrich, its chest is like the chest of a lion, its color is like the colour of a tiger, its haunches are like the haunches of a cat, its tail is like the tail of a ram, and its legs are like the legs of a camel. Between each pair of its joints is a distance of twelve cubits."

وقال المفسرون أيضا أن الدابة تخرج من المكان الذي ولدت فيه . تخرج من مكة من أعظم المساجد وقد ذكر هذا الطبراني في الأوسط عن حذيفة بن أسيد : فبينما هم إذا دبت الأرض. فبينما هم كذلك إذ تصدعت . وتصدعت كلمة بمعنى تخرج من الصدع أي الجدار المشقوق ولربما يُشير إلى حائط المستجار الذي انشق عند ولادة علي

Scholars have also said that the beast appears where it is born, and appears in Mecca in the Greatest Mosque. And Tabarani notes Huzaifa Ben Assid in "Al-Awsat" to have said: "In between them, the earth will be stepped (A beast will be stepping it, as in taking steps-the root word from which is derived the word for "beast" in Arabic). So when it so, {tasad3at}"

Tasada3at: 3rd person, feminine of the verve {sada3a} of the root word {sada3} which means a {crack in the wall}. This lead the interpreter to assume the meaning is the beast will appear by bursting out of a wall.

فعن ابن أبي حاتم أن أبا هريرة رضي الله عنه قال: إن الدابة فيها من كل لون، ما بين قرنيها فرسخ للراكب.

 

Abu Huraira was noted to have said: The beast in question contains every color and between her two horns, there is a seat for the rider.

قال ابن كثير: هذه الدابة تخرج في آخر الزمان عند فساد الناس، وتركهم أوامر الله، وتبديلهم الدين الحق، يخرج الله لهم دابة من الأرض، قيل: من مكة، وقيل: من غيرها... فتكلم الناس على ذلك.

 

Ibn Kathir has said: This beast is revealed at the end of time when people become corrupt and abandon God's commands and change the religion of truth. God will then reveal to them a beast from the earth. It's been said that it will come from Mecca, and it's been said to be from other places...and thus it will speak to the people concerning all of this.

وفي الخبر عن رسول الله (ص) أنه قال لعلي (عليه السلام): يا علي إذا كان آخر الزمان أخرجك الله في أحسن صورة ومعك ميسم تسم به أعدائك فقال الرجل لأبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) أن العامة يقولون هذه إنما تُكلِّمَهم فقال أبو عبد الله (عليه السلام) كلَمَهم الله في نار جهنم إنما هو تكلمهم من الكلام. ويحدث ذلك في الرجعة

The Prophet once said: Oh 'ali, at the end of time, God will reveal you in the best picture and with you, is a staff to stamp your enemies with. A man exclaimed: the people say that is how the beast will speak to the people! Imam Hussain replied: That (the beast) is how God will talk people towards the fire, but his (Imam 'Ali's Staff) will talk using speech, this is to happen in the Age of the Return.

وفي رواية اخرى عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام): قال رجل لعمار بن ياسر: يا أبا اليقضان ان آية في كتاب الله افسدت قلبي وشككتني؟ قال: وأية آيه هي؟ قال قوله عزوجل:

(( واذا وقع القول عليهم اخرجنا لهم دابة من الارض تكلمهم ان الناس كانوا بآياتنا لا يوقنون ))

 قال عمار: والله ما أجلس ولا آكل ولا أشرب حتى اريكها فجاء عمار مع الرجل الى أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام) وهو يأكل تمراً وزبداً، فقال (عليه السلام): يا أبا اليقضان هلم، فاقبل عمار وجلس يأكل معه فتعجب الرجل منه، فلما قام قال الرجل: سبحان الله انك حلفت ان لا تأكل ولا تشرب ولا تجلس حتى تريني الدابة، قال: اريتها ان كنت تعقل.

In another narration attributed to Imam Hussain. A man once told Ammar Ben Yassir: "Oh Abal Kidan, a verse in the Book of God corrupted my heart and planted doubt in me!" Abal Kidan asked: "And which verse is it?" Ammar replied: The Almighty's verse:

<And if the decree befalls them, we reveal to them a beast from the earth speaking to them, Indeed mankind had no certainty regarding our revelations>

For what kind of beast can this be!" Ammar said: "By God! I won't sit, eat, or drink until I have shown it to you". So Ammar went to the Commander of the Faithfuls (Imam 'Ali) accompanied by that man, and found him eating dates and butter. Imam 'Ali then said: "Come and join me oh Ammar", so Ammar sat and started to eat with him. So the man was surprised and when Ammar finished and got up he asked him disappointed:"Exalted is God! Didn't you swear that you won't drink or eat or sit until you show me the beast!?" Ammar replied: "It's been/would be shown to you if you used logic".

فقد ورد عن ابن عمير عن أبي بصير عن أبي عبد الله (عليه السلام) قال: انتهى رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله) الى أمير المؤمنين (عليه السلام) وهو قائم في المسجد قد جمع رملاً ووضع رأسه عليه فحركه برجله ثم قال: قم يا دابة الارض، فقال رجل من أصحابه يا رسول الله أيسمي بعضنا بعضنا بهذا الاسم؟ فقال: لا والله ما هو إلا له خاصة وهو الدابة الذي ذكره الله في كتابه فقال عزوجل

(( واذا وقع القول عليهم اخرجنا لهم دابة من الارض تكلمهم ان الناس كانوا بآياتنا لا يوقنون ))

....Imam Hussein is noted to have said: One day, the prophet came to the Commander of the Faithful (Imam 'Ali) at the mosque, after he ('Ali) had gathered some sand to rest his head on [to take a nap], and he (prophet) started to move him with his foot [to wake him] then he said: "Rise oh beast of the earth" so a man of the companions asked The Prophet:"Oh Messenger of God! Is it proper to call each other with that name?" The Prophet replied:"No! By God it is specially/specifically only for him,  and he is the beast whom God mentioned in his book saying:

<And if the decree befalls them, we reveal to them a beast from the earth speaking to them, Indeed mankind had no certainty regarding our revelations>
