Why does مهد {MHD} mean “cradle” ?

when MAHDI doesn’t conflict with Logic, doesn’t force false meanings on two other words that lead to a contradiction with what you believe happened to Jesus (Issa) instead it becomes a statement that is consistent with Jesus’ preaching concerning the Kingdom of God? MAHDI would also elevate the meaning the verses are conveying from what would otherwise be considered, at best, obvious, unimportant, and irrelevant facts, at worst, silly even! The only imposition presented by this meaning would be the fact that The Mahdi was mentioned by name in The Quran which is to be expected given who he is even by your understanding of his status and role.
